The first match of the season saw Thorpe put in a good performance only tro be beaten by the narrowest of margins in a game that could of gone any way.
Thorpe dominated the first 10 minutes and had a succession of early corners but couldn’t finish with the home side strong in defence.
The first high ball into thorpes area caused problems and a mix up saw the ball land at the feet of their forward who put in away neatly. This was against the run of the play but inspired Arsley into a period of dominance, but Thorpe defence worked hard and were able to keep Arsley at bay. Gradually Thorpe found their feet again and started to threaten with bex and charlotte both thwarted by the keeper when through on goal and then the keeper managed to get a hand on Lisa Maries shot to push it onto the bar and away to safety.
The second half started with an early change Meg coming on for injured Alice Ladbrooke and Meg was an instant threat forcing another fine save from the keeper. Lisa Marie also shot straight at the keeper and as Thorpe pushed forward looking to equalise Arlesly were dangerous on the break but Megan was having an outstanding game at the back and Kirsty to made a great save at the end from a one on one situation. The time ran out for Thorpe disappointing not to get a result but their performance more than matched their hosts.hannah bray was voted p.o.m by the opposition, Thorpe s choice for p.o.m was megan champion
