A lacklustre Thorpe were blown away in the opening half an hour of this game as Peterborough opened up a 4-0 lead. The hosts were stronger & faster than their opponents & filled with confidence from an early goal they seemed to run through the Thorpe defence at will & take the chances that came their way to go 4 up. At this stage though Thorpe rallied and after some good work from Mary Ann and Charlotte finished well to pull a goal back. Just before half time Thorpe were suddenly back in the match as Charlotte added another.Real hope for Thorpe if they could continue like this after the break, however 1 min after the restart it was 5-2 as Peterborough scored from a corner.Thorpe's heads dropped & as the game went on so did their fitness, Peterborough scored 3 more times, but Thorpe did get a consolation goal near the end & it was good to see Sophie poke home a shot to score her first goal for the club.
