Having lost 4-2 to Bedford in the reverse fixture last week, Thorpe showed they had learnt from that game and were stronger, tighter and much more of a unit working together to thwart their opponents early on, this paid off with Thorpe creating more chances than Bedford, and on the half hour Hannah's excellent corner was headed in at the far post by Megan for her first goal for the club. An early corner in the second half had exactly the same outcome as Meg again met Hannahs corner superbly to head Thorpe into a 2-0 lead. It was all thorpe now and Charlotte was upended in the box Becky stepped up to score from the spot. It got even better when Beks showed her strength to turn a defender and send a deflected shot into the top corner 4-0 with 20 minutes left. But bedford being the good team they are didn't give up and pulled one back, encouraged by this they added another to cause a few nerves at the end as thorpe wilted after their great efforts earlier on.
