Thorpe United v Acle

County cup vs Acle.

With Acle 2 leagues below Thorpe it was surprising to see how matched the game was, however Thorpe had a number of attacking chances and it was Lakey who should have set the cogs going her attacking chance led her to miss and open goal!

Thorpe continues with their attacking chances but Acles defence were solid.
After minutes of below par performance, Sophie had a break and a cross to Charlotte who's blasted shot went wide.

Acle were continually putting pressure on the home side but again Thorpe went on attack and Sophie took a heading opportunity which again just went wide. From a corner the ball went back to alice who took her chance and hit the crossbar!

Acles constant pressure to the thorpe side saw frustration seen by the coaches. Thorpe desperately needed to start playing their football!

Half time 0-0

The 2nd half kicked off with some frisky dogs streaking the pitch. Once the game continued Lauren was on a break but with pressure from the Acle side her shot went wide. It wasn't long before bex broke out and a decent cross to sophie who powered it over the bar.

With all of Thorpe's chances it was frustrating to see the 1st attacking chance from the away side hitting the back of the net, 0-1.

Acle's goal was a bit of a wake up call for the home side, with Megan attacking forward but this was stopped with a vicious tackle from an Acle player but Megan took the advantage and continued her run but the ref pulled it back for a self inflicted injury to the Acle player. With a drop ball back to Kirsty, and a long ball up the field Alice took the possession and with a weaving run Alice took her chance and slotted the ball neatly in the bottom corner 1.1.

The final score ended 1.1 which means extra time....

The first half of extra time looked well matched and the half finished goalless with the score still 1.1.

The second half continued the same as the first of extra time, but it was soon Thorpe who took the attacking opportunity. Starting from a clearance from Megan to Becky who passed to Sophie, who then gave a great ball to Lakey and a cross in the box to Meg into the back of the net! This what happens when you play good football 2-1.

Final score 2-1 which sees Thorpe going into the next stage of the county cup
