Thorpe were under pressure early with Woodbridge well up for the game ,strong and sharp in the tackle and vocally encouraging each other, they looked dangerous. But the key for Thorpe was not to concede early which they didn’t and as the game past the 20 minute mark the ball was spending more time in their opponents half and then chances started to come, Lakey missing a couple of good opportunities, Sophie and Charlotte also. Becky was bossing midfield and this allowed Charlotte to push up and she gave Thorpe the lead when she ran into the area and slotted the ball past the keeper at the near post. Thorpe were lifted by this and early in the second half Beks showed her strength as well as her speed to nip past their defender go round the keeper and score. Charlotte then scored the goal of the game when the ball came out to her wide on the right and she smacked it with the outside of her foot into the top corner with the keeper getting a hand to it but unable to keep it out. One of Thorpe’s problems this season has been fading in the last 20 minutes but not today as they created chance after chance and stayed strong and alert at the back. Becky broke through late on and scored the goal her best display of the season had deserved.
