Having lost heavily in the league to Hellesdon Thorpe put in a really battling performance and matched their hosts for most of the first half. However Hellesdon did take the lead just before the break but undeterred and knowing they now had to attack Thorpe took the game to Hellesdon and had several chances to equalise with Vivian a real threat. But as Thorpe pressed Hellesdon too were creating chances and took one near the end to advance to the next round.
