Woodbridge v TULFC

Woodbridge Town 2 Thorpe Utd 1

Thorpe got of to a flying start with Hannah smashing a shot over the advancing keeper in the first minute after collecting a through ball from Charlotte. This lifted Thorpe's confidence & more chances came and went as Thorpe dominated. Woodbridge came back into the game towards half time but some good defending & teamwork kept the hosts at bay. Thorpe stepped up again after the break & for the 2nd week running Lisa Marie saw a shot canon off the woodwork, this time hitting a post, moments later Thorpe were presented with an open goal but still couldn’t put the ball in the net. How they would rue these missed chances as with aroud 20mins left they began to tire in the hot conditions & Woodbridge managed to equalise with an unchallenged header.Worse was to follow when Woodbridge were awarded a penalty after Thorpe failed to deal with a loose ball in the box, the penalty was converted & Thorpe didn’t have enough energy to respond or threaten an equaliser in the final few minutes. Another narrow defeat was really tough on the girls who had played really well for 70minutes.

p.o.m voted by Woodbridge was Kirsty, p.o.m voted by Thorpe was Lisa-Marie
